Sean Connery in this introduction scene as James Bond. On the morning of March 2, 1962, Sean Connery made screen history with his debut as James Bond, introducing himself with the now iconic phrase, “Bond. James Bond,”
Seated opposite him at the chemin de fer table was the character Sylvia Trench (Eunice Gayson) .
The casino scene is set at Les Ambassadors in London, which interestingly, is the same venue where Harry Saltzman initially met Ian Fleming in December 1960 when seeking to gain film rights for the Bond books.
Les Ambassadeurs was also as the location for the post-Gala Screening party of Dr. No at the London Pavilion on October 5, 1962.
